About UHA

The Housing Authority of the City of Upland (UHA) was founded on August 8, 1940, by a resolution of the Upland City Council. The Council Resolution declared the need for a Housing Authority in the City of Upland and appointed the first five-member Board of Commissioners. Construction of "Los Olivos", a Public Housing project, began in 1942 and opened its doors in September of 1943. In July of 1976 UHA began administering a Section 8 Rental Assistance program.

UHA administers the Conventional "Public" Housing and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs to the public, addressing the need for affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families in the Upland area.
